Quotation method for translations:
Customers requiring an accurate and binding quote are welcome to submit an appropriate sample or the whole text for evaluation.
For translations from Chinese into German or English we use character count in the source language as a basis.
For translations from German into Chinese (mainland, simplified, or traditional characters) or English into Chinese (mainland, simplified, or traditional characters) we use word count in the source language as a basis. The translator is responsible for reviews by native speakers (English or Chinese) which are included in the price.
Please indicate the degree to which the text should be reviewed or edited. The translation of an internal paper not to be published can be treated differently from a text to be published in a volume of conference papers.Three different degrees of required fine tuning are possible:

We offer our expertise to produce written or multi-medial texts which fulfill their clearly defined purposes in another language and culture. We are equipped with the necessary technological and linguistic tools (text design, website construction) to translate your source text into a different cultural setting, so that it can be completely accepted by the addressed population or social group in the target country. This includes also revision of already existing translations. In such cases an intensive ccoperation between the customer or his representatives and specialists and the translation office is necessary.
Especially in the case of large projects, please indicate to what extent you are able to support the project, whether you can provide special glossaries, parallel texts, back-ground texts and in how far you are able and willing to review the text together with us. It is very useful to designate competent partners in your company, whom we can contact in case of specific questions, or in the case of inconsistencies in the source texts.

We will let you know if a text goes beyond our expertise. I only accept work accompanied by a purchase order.

The rates listed are only preliminary. The actual rate must be agreed upon for each specific project depending on length, subject, file format, and time frame.
